Wayne and Chrissy

A Love Story

Post

Wayne met the love of his life, Chrissy, in junior high school and it was love at first sight. Since then, they have been inseparable. They have a date night once a week to go see a movie, go out to dinner, or take a leisurely stroll in the park. When they are not physically together, they connect virtually by texting or calling throughout the day. Chrissy also enjoys writing Wayne daily love letters and he is always happy to receive them.

Currently Wayne and Chrissy have exchanged rings, and when Wayne first presented a ring to Chrissy after they shopped together, she asked him “What does this ring mean? I need a meaning to this ring!” because she wanted him to clarify the trajectory of their relationship. For them, their true love is friendship, and Wayne happily declared, “It is a friendship ring!” The foundation of a beautiful relationship is friendship, and Wayne and Chrissy have figured out theirs. With both having rings, they recognize it as an eternal symbol of their love.

In addition to their happy relationship, Wayne and Chrissy attend a transition to adult learning program. Through that program, they obtained their jobs – Wayne working at Fiery Ginger Farm and Chrissy at Grocery Outlet. Wayne first started the program at 17 after he graduated high school. He knew that he didn’t want to attend college and he vocalized with his family that he did not want to keep going to school. Instead, he focused on working. One year into his current job at Fiery Ginger Farm, Wayne has matured greatly, never complaining about working and has even overcome his fear of bugs now that he regularly sees them on the farm.

Both Wayne and Chrissy are part of Team Davis, a non-profit organization sponsoring athletic, social, recreational and educational activities. Wayne has been a part of the program for five years and participates in sports and recreational activities like singing. He also participates in a unified soccer team through Special Olympics, which has a mix of disabled and non-disabled team members. Wayne is very talented at soccer and is excited to be traveling this year with the team to play in games.

As Chrissy and Wayne continue their relationship, they both have shared their goals for the future of their relationship. They want to get married, have two children, two cats, and one dog, and live happily together.
