Message to Service Providers on COVID-19

Post

Alta California Regional Center continues to closely monitor the outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (named COVID-19). ACRC staff, including our medical professionals, have met to develop a coordinated response. Currently, in-person meetings are suspended as directed by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) found under the Directives heading. ACRC encourages our service providers to review information and follow the prevention strategies listed below:

Request Letters for Vaccine Prioritization for People with Disabilities by County

Alta California Regional Center is requesting by letter to each of our 10 counties’ Public Heath Officer vaccine prioritization for people with disabilities. Individuals with developmental disabilities experience health inequities and are at greater risk for poorer outcomes from COVID-19. By definition, they are considered hi-risk. We have observed a heightened risk of death for our client population as well.
