Rate Changes due to the Minimum Wage Increase

Due to the passage of AB 10, minimum wage in California will increase from $8.00 to $9.00 per hour, effective July 1, 2014. Service Providers that are affected by this change may be eligible to receive a rate adjustment in order to pay employees the new minimum wage. This page contains information for applicable Service Providers on submitting rate adjustment requests.

All rate increases are effective July 1, 2014. The links below will provide you information to determine if your organization, as a Service Provider to Alta California Regional Center (Alta), is eligible for a rate increase. If your organization has employees that currently earn less than $9 per hour please read the information posted below.        

Work Activity and Community-Based Day Programs with rates set by the Department of Developmental Services. Review the Departments instructions at http://www.dds.ca.gov/MinWage/MWRA_Process.cfm

Community Care Facilities with Alternative Residential Model (ARM) rates. Alta will adjust the rate. The new rate schedule can be found here http://www.dds.ca.gov/Rates/docs/CCF_rate_July2014.pdf

In-Home Respite Workers, Voucher, and Participant-Directed Respite. Alta will increase the rate to $11.88 per hour.

Non-Mobile Supplemental Staffing. – Alta will increase the rate to $1.08 per hour.

Review the letter from Alta regarding rates set through negotiations. Rates for a variety of services are set through negotiation between Service Providers and Alta. Alta will adjust your rate if any employees are paid less than $9.00 per hour. The workbook below should be used by applicable Service Providers to submit rate adjustment requests to Alta. Detailed instructions are contained in the tabs that precede the worksheets. Service Providers should begin submitting rate adjustment requests as soon as possible. All requests must be received by Alta no later than September 2, 2014.

Supportive Living Services (SLS). – Review the letter from Alta regarding SLS rates set through negotiations. SLS Service Providers who have a staff rate of less than $9 per hour in their Master Budget are required to submit documentation to support a minimum wage rate increase. Alta will email an updated Master Budget to SLS Service Providers affected by the minimum wage increase.
