Sacramento Transgender Day of Remembrance

Cultural Diversity

Trinity Cathedral welcomes members of the Sacramento community, families, friends and allies to join in a solemn candlelight vigil in observance of the 24th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 18 at 6:30 pm.

The International Transgender Day of Remembrance memorializes those who have suffered violent deaths due to their actual or perceived gender identity or expression. The first candlelight vigil in San Francisco was held in 1999 to honor Rita Hester, murdered on November 28, 1998. Since then, annual memorials have been observed around November 20 in countries around the world.

Alta California Regional Center will host a table at the event.

Address: 2620 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, California 95816
