Stay Safe This Summer: Emergency Preparedness Tips
As summer heats up, it’s important to be prepared for seasonal
emergencies like extreme heat, wildfires, and power outages. Now
is a great time to check your emergency kit—make sure you have
enough water, nonperishable food, backup batteries, and a way to
stay cool if the power goes out. If you rely on electricity for
medical needs, have a backup plan in place.
Clear brush around your home to reduce wildfire risk and monitor air quality during smoky days. Ensure fans or air conditioning are working, and know where to find cooling centers if needed.
