Spring Safety Tips

Post

Spring into action this season by taking the right steps to ensure that you and your loved ones are safe from emergencies this season. With the change in weather from winter to spring, this season is a great time to prepare your home for fires and other emergencies like potential power outages that occur in ACRC’s service area. Start by making a checklist of action items and include activities like testing your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, updating or building your emergency go-kits, and expanding your personal emergency plans. This season is also a great time to learn more about the types of emergency messaging you might receive if a disaster occurs in your area. Sometimes emergency alerts can be confusing and overwhelming, which is why it is important to know the definition of key terms like “Advisory”, “Watch”, Warning”, “Evacuation”, and “Shelter Orders”.
