Clients of Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) who have used drugs or alcohol are invited to participate in a study with East Carolina University.

The study is led by Dr. Lori Eldridge, an instructor at East Carolina University. She is a leading researcher for substance use disorders with the intersection of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Eldrige has worked with ACRC since 2023 to develop training for Service Coordinators, managers, advocates and providers in this area. Learn more about Dr. Eldrige with this link.

What to expect by participating in the study:

  • online interview with a researcher that is about 30 minutes long
  • the interview will be recorded
  • participants can have their support person with them

Why participating in the study matters:

  • all people deserve good health care, and this helps get information on health care needs
  • participant answers can help fix problems with care

The goal of the study is to make care that fits each person.
