Jacquelyn

In Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

Post

Jacquelyn is an artist who likes drawing, ceramics, and anything that involves the creative process. She discovered her love of drawing in high school when she took some art classes. Jacquelyn primarily focuses on drawing anime and loves to share her work with her family. When she isn’t drawing, Jacquelyn enjoys watching romance anime, playing video games, and hanging out with her family.

As a Mexican, Hispanic Heritage Month is important for Jacquelyn because it recognizes and celebrates her culture. Jacquelyn had a quinceañera, a traditional celebration held to mark a girl’s 15th birthday, signifying her passage into womanhood, and she looks back at it fondly. Every year, she and her family observe Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a multi-day holiday that involves family and friends gathering to pay their respects and remember loved ones who have passed away. They set up a table of their ancestors’ favorite food, and it gives Jacquelyn the opportunity to learn more about her past family.

Besides celebrating her culture with her family, Jacquelyn has set a goal to begin working. She has held employment at a clothing store before and would like to continue in a retail setting or even a restaurant. Jacquelyn liked talking with customers and socializing in the workplace, so a job that allows her to continue doing so would be perfect.
