Fall Safety and Emergency Preparedness
Fall is a great time to review your emergency plan and prepare for changing weather, earthquakes, power outages, and shorter days. As El Niño may bring heavy rain and strong winds, make sure you have a plan for flooding and power outages, especially if you rely on medical equipment, refrigerated medications, or communication devices. Remember to Drop, Cover, and Hold On during an earthquake, keep medications safely stored and up to date, and take extra precautions when traveling outdoors after dark by wearing bright or reflective clothing and carrying a flashlight.
A little preparation now can help you stay safe and prepared this fall.
