Sensory Friendly Halloween Treat Walk

Join Sacramento ABA Therapy for a Sensory Friendly Halloween Treat Walk on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm. This is a free event for children and their families to enjoy a gentle Halloween walk featuring festive activities, sweet treats, and a welcoming environment designed for children with autism and sensory sensitivities.

Zombie Bike Parade

The 8th Annual Zombie Bike Parade is Saturday, October 31 from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm! This FREE, family-friendly festival features 25+ entertainment stations, a BMX stunt show, hundreds of costumed riders, and zombies falling out of the sky. The bike ride itself is the main event of the day, but it is entirely optional, so come on wheels or on foot.

Join Alta California Regional Center for a Community Meeting taking place on a quarterly basis! These meetings are open to clients, families, and the community at large as an opportunity to learn about regional center activities and initiatives, as well as to provide an opportunity for public input.

Self Determination Program In-Person Training

Cambrian Financial Management Services (CFMS) provides financial management services to people of all ages living with developmental disabilities. They are hosting an in-person training on the Self-Determination Program (SDP) on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Participants will receive important information and handouts to give them a better understanding of the Self-Determination Program.

Hosted by Future for Our Kids

Families and caregivers of Alta California Regional Center are invited to a virtual Lunch and Learn presentation hosted by Future for Our Kids on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. The session will feature a presentation by CaringTide, which provides long-term planning for your whole family, not just the loved one with a disability. They combine personal experience with professional expertise.

Teen Day Out: Farmer’s Market and Lunch

Teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 13 – 22 are invited to join Access Leisure for a Teen Day Out for a Farmer’s Market and Lunch on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Teen Day Out is an opportunity for teens with disabilities to be out in the community and explore all that the city has to offer safely with peers. Teens can work on social skills, money management, making friends, and so much more!

Listening and Feedback Session

for Hmong Clients and Families

Hmong clients and families are invited to join Alta California Regional Center (ACRC), and Hmong Youth and Parents United (HYPU) for an in-person Listening and Feedback Session on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a follow-up session on Friday, December 11, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Self-Determination Advisory Committee (SDAC) Meeting

The Self-Determination Advisory Committee (SDAC) plays an important role in the implementation and oversight of the Self Determination Program. Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) and the SDAC work collaboratively to prioritize the use of implementation funds to meet the needs of participants in our catchment area. SDAC membership is comprised of clients, family members and community members appointed by ACRC and the State Council on Developmental Disabilities.

DisCo Social Event: Bringing the Disability Community Together

PPL is hosting a DisCo Social Event and members of the disability community are invited to attend! DisCo stands for “Disability Community. These events are focused around creating a third space for people with disabilities (and their loved ones) to come together and find community. There are no costs or requirements to attend, people are welcome to join for a little bit or stay for the full two hours.

The event is Thursday, September 17, October 15, and November 19, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Youth Art Series

Youth ages 6-12 are invited to join Access Leisure on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm for an Art Series! Attendees will practice a new art skill, engage with history and technique of the artist for that day, and then try that medium out themselves.
