Join the Department of Developmental Services for Procedural Safeguards and Parents Rights workshops on Tuesday, July 22 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am and Thursday, August 7 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Special Education Assessment on July 22 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am:

This session will focus on all elements of special education assessment under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Child Find requirement. Topics will include initial eligibility assessment, ongoing assessment requirements, assessment timelines, consent, and Independent Education Evaluations.

Participants will receive a copy of the presentation slides along with any referenced handouts. This is a 90-minute session, including time for Q&A, presented by Debra Sanders. Register for this session.

Flow/Chronological Sequence of the IEP to Service Provision on August 7 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am:

This session will focus on the full timeline for special education including eligibility identification, Individual Education Program (IEP) development and implementation, service delivery, tracking, and re-evaluation. The goal of this session is to help participants understand statutory timelines as well as the mechanics of how IEPs are developed, implemented, and adjusted.
