Launch your social work career with the Alta California Regional Center (ACRC)! We offer dynamic BSW and MSW internships, pairing you with experienced professionals to provide vital case management and person-centered services for individuals with developmental disabilities. With mentorship and support from our Field Instructor and experienced Task Supervisors, you will have the opportunity to put social work theory into professional practice, gain experience in the nine competencies of social work, champion our mission and help clients reach their fullest potential!
ACRC serves approximately 37,000 clients of all ages—from infants and toddlers in the Early Start program to older individuals with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and intellectual disabilities. ACRC services a 10 County area, and we offer diverse internship placement opportunities across our eight offices in Sacramento, Grass Valley, Placerville, Roseville, South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Woodland, and Yuba City. Internships are available in our Adult Services, Children Services, Early Intervention Services, Supported Living Services, Enhanced Service Coordination, and Residential Services.
ACRC has affiliation agreements with many institutions including California State University, Chico; California State University, Sacramento, Grand Canyon University, Metropolitan State University, Denver; Pacific Oaks University; University of Kentucky; University of New England; University of Nevada; and more. We are continuing to build our affiliation partnerships and may be able to work with your school. At the conclusion of an internship, interns may apply for full-time employment at ACRC. Currently about 25% of our interns become employees!
