Developmental Services Funding Increases

Post

As a result of legislation, ABX2-1, recently passed in the extraordinary session of the legislature, the developmental services system will be receiving an additional amount of new funding. Among the many things in this legislation, most service providers will be receiving rate increases. There are two types of increases that will be allocated to service providers. One increase of 5% will be provided to the following types of services:

  • Supported Living Services
  • Independent Living Services
  • Transportation Services
  • In-Home Respite Services

The other increase will be for service providers who have a DDS set rate or a rate set by negotiations with the regional center. These providers will have receive an increase to provide funds to increase the wages/benefits of staff that provide direct services to regional center clients. There will also be funds for the administrative component of services.

In order to determine the percentage rate increase the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) has sent letters to a randomly selected sample of service providers throughout the state. These service providers represent a cross section of all types of services. Completion of the surveys and returning them to DDS will provide the information necessary to calculate the rate increases.  DDS will then be issuing new rate letters to service providers.

Please click on the links to the DDS website for the details of the survey as well as to sign up for the upcoming Webinars that will help those providers who received the survey complete the forms.
