New Directive from DDS during COVID-19
Financial Management Services and the Budget
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) issued a directive on November 19, 2020 waiving the requirement that the cost of Financial Management Services (FMS) be paid by the SDP participant from their budget.
This waiver is effective October 1, 2020, and is in place to allow participants of the Self-Determination Program (SDP) to repurpose these waived fees for different and/or additional SDP services during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.
Budget Restrictions
DDS released a directive on February 3, 2021 stating: an SDP participant has the flexibility and may choose to repurpose funds for FMS fees for different and/or additional services during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.
