Generic & Natural Supports

A generic resource includes any community resource available to an individual and/or family which does not require a purchase from ACRC to access. Since the regional center is funded by public money, we cannot supplant another source mandated to provide service. ACRC is considered the “payor of last resort.”

Some examples of existing sources of funding and service may include your personal insurance, Medi-Cal, California Children’s Services (CCS), the Department of Rehabilitation, your local school district, and local service agencies.  ACRC is committed to helping meet your needs. Your service coordinator is the key person to assist you in securing necessary supports and services to help fulfill your dreams and desires. This is some general information which may prove helpful when looking for community resources. As ACRC provides support and service in a ten-county area, it will not be possible to list every single resource.
