Annual Family Program Fee

Effective July 1, 2011, Welfare and Institutions Code Section 4785 implemented the Annual Family Program Fee (AFPF) which requires regional centers to assess an annual fee to parents when your adjusted gross family income is at or above 400 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL), based upon your family size, when you have a child to whom all of the following apply:

              
  • Your child has a developmental disability or is eligible for services under the California Early Intervention Services program
  • Your child is less than 18 years of age
  • Your child lives with you
  • Your child does not receive services through the Medi-Cal program
  • Note: AFPF is not assessed if you receive ONLY respite or day care and you have a cost participation under the Family Cost Participation Program (FCPP).
